Face Detection Technology
Fujifilm's Face Detection technology was originally developed for the
company's photofinishing division, where it was used for reproducing the fine
detail in people's faces in print. It works in the camera by triangulating eyes
and mouth, using an algorithm to optimise focus, white balance and exposure for
up to six faces in a single frame. Movement tracking keeps the camera 'locked
on' to its subjects until they move out of the picture. The technology works
irrespective of the subject's position in the frame, and is not confused by
glasses.
Red Eye Removal
The FinePix S1500 will correct redness in the pupil of the eye, not
elsewhere in the picture, because the camera uses eye detection within face
detection to find the pupil. While other cameras can sometimes convert lips or
red jewellery to brown or blue, the FinePix S1500 never gets it wrong.
New Fujinon 12x Optical Zoom (33mm-396mm equivalent)
The Finepix S1500 features a 12x Optical Zoom with a focal range equivalent of
33mm-396mm compared to 35mm. Bring your subject closer and clearer with high
quality Fujinon lens technology, and leave the expensive, heavy, extra lenses to
the other guy.
Continuous Shooting & High Speed

Continuous Shooting makes it easy to capture
sporting events or other action scenes at 13.5 frames per second in a burst.
Once you’ve taken your shots, High Speed Playback lets you view them as a
streaming sequence (10 frames per second) that resembles a video.
This function also lets you scroll through the content of your memory card for
quick and easy image retrieval.
Automatic Scene Detection
Now it's easier than ever to get stunning shots.
Scene Recognition AUTO cleverly detects the scene being photographed and the
camera automatically chooses the best focus and exposure for the scene to reveal
stunning photos. The six scene modes are Landscape, Macro, Portrait, Night,
Backlit Portrait and Night Portrait.
